The Designer Life

Designer clothes, shoes, accessories; designer foods; designer communities; designer houses, kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms.

It seems the word “designer” has found its way into almost every niche of society.

By definition it means someone who creates forms, structures, and patterns, who executes designs which are to be better than ordinary things.

Another word relative to people wanting to change their lives is the word “coach” as in “Life Coach.”

“Designer” usually means “to cost more.”  As well, a “Life Coach” can also be expensive.

In the area of medical research of stem cells, DNA, genes, there is thought to be a designer baby.

If you could have a “designer life,” what would you want your life to be?

Suppose you could have a 24-hour a day “Life Coach” operating on the inside of your being, inside of your human spirit.

This “Spirit Life Coach” would positively influence your behavior patterns, thought processes, actions, deeds, decisions, choices and guarantee only the best for your life.

What would you be willing to pay for such a coach?
What would you be willing to sacrifice?

From the beginning of man, God desired to be our “Life Coach” by the power of His Holy Spirit operating within our human spirit.

Our behavior was intended by God to be a pure expression of His divine nature.

Only the Spirit of God acting within you can ever enable you to behave as God intended you to behave.

Without God you can never be the man, woman, God intended you to be.

Are you ready to live the Designer Life by allowing the Holy Spirit to move through you?

Romans 8:13
For if you live according to [the dictates of] the flesh, you will surely die. But if through the power of the [Holy] Spirit you are [habitually] putting to death (making extinct, deadening) the [evil] deeds prompted by the body, you shall [really and genuinely] live forever.

If you missed this weekend at TheChurch on Strayer…

Let us begin our study today with a profound truth -

As a believer, you now have the very life of heaven within you.

That means you and I are right now equipped by God with eternal life which we can live out on a day-by-day basis in the presence of this evil age.

In this world, we are soaked with secularity.  It seems people have little regard for a loving, caring, interactive God.

Jesus prayed for us to live in victory and be fulfilled while being in the world but not of the world.

Full-time Kingdom living brings us into our created purpose as we live lives of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

John 17:14 - I have given and delivered to them Your word (message) and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world…

The Holy Spirit is the C.O.O. ─Chief Operating Officer─ of God’s Kingdom on earth.  He is also the C.E.O. ─Chief Executive Officer─ of God’s Kingdom on earth.

The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives daily helping us, comforting us, and counseling us by becoming our advocate (defense attorney), intercessor, strengthener, and standby is God’s guarantee of His promise of eternal life. (John 16:7)

  • You don’t have to win ─ God guarantees victory.
  • You don’t have to struggle, fight ─ trust and obey.

Live as subjects of His Kingdom; enjoy His protection, preservation, and provision.  As Kingdom subjects, we are sealed by God.  “Sealing” keeps out the polluted air.  He keeps us in the midst of an evil age.  Nothing shall, by any means, harm us.

Power of Influence

Perhaps one of man’s greatest assets is the power, skill, ability to move someone to say “yes” to a request.

This is what influence, persuasion is all about. Everyone has influence over someone.  When your life connects with someone, you are an influencer.

Emerson said,

Every man is a hero and an oracle to somebody, and to that person, whatever he says has an enhanced value.

For success in any endeavor, we must have some measure of influence.

Every person is created by God to influence and to be influenced.  Influence is part and parcel of our make-up in the very core of our being.

Influence is a powerful and life-changing thing, especially when it is used in a good and positive sense.

Influence is defined as “a power affecting a person, a thing, or course of events.”

Relationship is the key to influence – to win the trust of another person on the strength or quality of our character.

Influence is born out of trust which is rooted in relationship.

The power, effect of your Kingdom influence is dependent upon three things:

  1. The knowledge of God’s Word.
  2. The wisdom of the Holy Spirit.
  3. The intimacy of prayer.

Regardless of what you think of your level of influence in the world, you can make a difference.

Invite someone to church this weekend…  see the effect of your Kingdom influence and let Jesus take care of the rest!
