The Power of Focus

I would challenge you to read Genesis 11, when the people were coming together around the Tower of Babel.

They were going to build this huge tower into the heavens and they said “let’s make a name for ourselves.  We will have the people of the world come and look at us as the greatest people on the earth.  We’ll build this huge, huge tower called the Tower of Babel.

The Lord God looked down at them from heaven and this is what He said: “They have one mind.  They have one purpose.  They’ve all set themselves to do this one thing.  If I do not go down and stop this, there is nothing they put their minds to, that they will not be able to accomplish.”

In the very beginning of the Bible, God Almighty is sending a message to us.  You can accomplish anything you want to do, if you can get yourself totally focused.  If you can get yourself totally focused and you can gather a team around you that is like-minded and thus totally focused, there is no limit to what you can do as a group, as a church, as a ministry, and as a people.

Empowered By Hope

As an acrostic the word “HOPE” can mean ~

                        Heavenly

                        Optimism

                        Personally

                        Experienced

Hope is a virtue which the soul needs for energy and motivation. Hope is always necessary for the restoration of a wounded spirit.

We need hope to press on, to endure, to stay focused, and to see dreams fulfilled.

Hope has been called the energy and effort of faith.  It is the power to be cheerful in circumstances that we know to be desperate.

Hope fuels life with joy, peace and love.

Two words will help you cope when you run low on hope — Accept and Trust.

Accept the mystery of hardship, suffering, misfortune or mistreatment.  Don’t try to understand it or to explain it.  Accept it.  Move on.   Then trust God to protect you by His power from this very moment to the dawning of eternity.

God has an agenda for each of us.
Jeremiah 29:11 ~ For I know the plans (agenda) I have for you, declares the Lord…to give you a future and a hope.

God’s agenda for His people is that they never lose hope.

Most of all of us are in some sort of a holding pattern, trusting God for something we have prayed for, dreamed of.   I have good news; the Lord is good to those who wait for Him, who seek him.  You should know that God has chosen us to be on His team.  The Lord chooses us because He chooses to choose us.

What are we to hope in?  Our position, our wealth, our privilege or power? No!

We are to hope in God.

  • He commands and inspires hope.
  • He justifies and expects hope.
  • He approves and rewards hope.

There are three simple steps in order for us to experience Christian hope:

  1.  In Believing: Doubt interferes with hope.  As you believe God’s Word, and His promises, hope begins to fill your life.
  2. Joy: When you exercise faith that the blessings of His Word are indeed yours, joy will    flood your life.
  3. Peace: When you trust God with your life, all of it, peace – tranquility of mind, produces hope.

“Focus, Focus, Focus” - No Limits RECAP

It has been said that broken focus is one of mankind’s greatest curses.

The obvious solution to that is proper application of the Law of Focus.

Focus creates and intensifies desire.  Intensified desire produces energy and creativity.

Focus determines direction. The mind leads and the body follows.  Focus creates reality.

Focus is always a choice of the will.  A positive focus pushes your mind into a positive direction and turns on a positive operating system.

When your mind is focused on positive things, thoughts and activities, there is no limit to how good your life can become.

God gave us a mind and He expects us to fill it with good things.

Proverbs 4:25-26 (MSG)

Keep your eyes straight ahead; ignore all sideshow distractions.  Watch your step, and the road will stretch out smooth before you.

When under stress, fatigued, and struggling with life’s challenges, don’t resort to speaking negative things and complaining.

Don’t turn loose of your faith commitment, your focus on living “No Limits” just because a negative circumstance comes your way.

Through everything He permits into your life, He is trying to unveil and reveal the treasure deposited within you.

“No Limits” living demands extreme focus so that we can endure, persevere, and finish in this race of life.  Never change your mind about God’s plans for your life.

Tell us what this series of messages have done in your life!
